BTA's and what other anemone?

hey guys, I just wanted to see what other species of anemone's you've all mixed before. I'm setting up a BTA tank (80 gallon) and I wouldn't mind getting another species in there (one of the bigger ones). Can you guys post the different species that you've housed successfully with BTA's?

I just asked the same question but haven't gotten any responses.. I have 2x BTAs, and wanted to add a Sebae at some point in my 60G cube..

I've seen RBTAs and GBTAs in the same tank....

How big is your tank?

I have a tank, total volume of 75 gallons, that held a BTA, malu anemone, carpet, maxi mini carpet, frilly anemone, rock anemones, tube anemones, and beadlet anemones all at once. I have since sold the carpet and lost the maxi mini to a bad food choice, but otherwise still going strong. It just needs a bit more maintaining than the average tank with all the livestock.

He ate a 3" wide horseshoe crab and couldn't cough it up. I got home to find just the tail sticking out, and all the spikes on those things point toward the tail.

could you elaborate on what you did more to maintain it?

I have a GFO reactor and protein skimmer capable of cleaning 200+ gallons and 2 400w MH held up high to cover the entire tank with full lighting. I spot feed EVERYTHING, fish, anemones, starfish, etc. And then I do 30 percent WC every month, but still have high phosphates. Otherwise the tank is healthy.

Did you mean, still have high nitrates? I know it's all a matter of preference, but I personally think you get alot more from smaller water changes done more frequently! Fish, nems and corals poop everyday not once a month. I also have a 75 gallon and I do two five gallon water changes a week.

Nope, I meant phosphates. My nitrates are always under 20, usually under 10, but my phosphates are at .09 last time I checked. Before the phosphate reactor, they got as high as .27!

And you're right about the water changes, but I have to use what I make, no storage space, so I am being lazy because I hate making water so frequently.

My bad, Where are the phosphates coming from? Do you get pretty heavy algae growth?

Yeah I hear ya it gets very tedious with no storage device! I recently picked up a few 55 gallon drums, they have made life much easier.

I'm gonna say it's probably from using a lot of mysis shrimp. Or from using tap water for the first 6 months. But it isn't going away as quickly as most would expect, so I'm gonna blame the mysis. I use frozen PE mysis often and don't seperate out the water, just thaw and feed mixed with tank water using a turkey baster.
