just wanted to say i stopped in there the other day.. ever since the original place burned down and they moved across sunrise they havent been my favorite place to visit but i stopped in for the first time in maybe a year or so and the place has definitely turned around.. they had a decent selection of coral, fish and inverts so if you're in the area, might be worth checking out.. prices were reasonable for a li lfs as well.

Haven't been to that place in years. Might stop by just to check it out.

Quick aside - I stopped by the "new" (been around for about 8 months now) LFS on Sunrise Highway in Bay Shore and their prices are still as ridiculous as they were when they first opened. $22/lb for LR. $3 for a tiny hermit crab. $80 for a two inch frag of "mystery" coral. I don't know how they stay in business. The store is really nice and clean though!

and just an fyi, pets warehouse selden location got rid of the whole aquarium dept, and reef shack shut down..

Btj's now has a full time tank guy...plus a new building so it is a big improvement. Still has some expired goods with the exp date wipped off and some of the prices show that the bros. still haven't heard of this thing called the Internet. But overal it's an improvement and I stop there often but almost never buy anything but frozen food as his prices are too high.

The other guy in sunrise (Caribbean blue aquatics) was on the bottom of 231 for years before he opened that new store a year ago... He has had. The same mated pair of maroon clowns in there the hole time for 300 bucks. Always has at least one fish with ich in his system. Cycles the shark tank with the sharks in it...finally after a year he put some live rock in the sump.....

Probably gonna stop by PW in Copaigue (or however you spell it). Seems to be the only place I can consistently find decent prices and fish that live. I like Aquarium Village, but for some reason all the livestock (snails, fish, etc.) I buy from there dies in a week. Everyone else seems to have good luck with that place so it must be something in my tanks/water chemistry/? I wish I could figure it out since they have nice stuff at fair prices. Tropical Aquarium remains the "go to" place for SPS IMO.

tropical island and pets warehouse copiauge are the only places i really end up making purchases from anymore.

south shore tropicals on hoffman ave in lindenhurst has a small, but nice frag set up at reasonable prices.

Aquahut is the place Yo go for dry goods Period! Livestock id say aquarium village and Pets Warehouse in copaiuge. Steve from REEF SHACK said hes gonna do something outta his house, which would be cool. I always liked the corals he got in.

Went to Pets Warehouse in CPG over the weekend. They had some great frags and decent deals on them as well. I got some nice chalice, favia and acan frags that were growing nicely on the plugs just about fully encrusted. Didn't pay more than $40 for a 3-4" piece.

Their coral section is much better than it used to and the fish looked healthy as well.
