Bubble Algae

I have what looks like something I have heard termed bubble algae here at RC. Unfortunately I cannot find the thread right now. I have little green bubbles showing up on the rock. How do you get rid of this stuff?

Rotate it back and forth gently and then take it out. Alternatively you can use a siphon hose and scrape it off and siphon it out. Or you can take the rock out quickly and scrub it off. If the rock is not buried this is the easiest and most efficient way.

Some say emerald crabs eat it. I have yet to see that. I have two emerald crabs and they have never touched it.

Regards,

Pat

I have heard if you pop the bubble it will spread. Be extra carefull when removing. Taking the rock out may be the best way.

Thanks for the advice. I would have to unstack a lot of rock to scrub some of the affected rocks. I bought what I thought was a small crab. He is a little large, but man is he going after the algae!!! I can move it to my other tank later. A couple of questions. What will it eat besides the bubble algae? Will it go after any of my other corals, hermit crabs, snails or fish???
