I hate the stuff... I have some you just can't get to really... what is the methods everyone uses for controlling it?

Is there anything that will eat it?

Some emerald crabs will eat bubble algae, but then once they're finished they'll start munching on your corals.

I got 4 emeralds and they ate it all up in a night. gone the next morning. I see them eating algae off the rocks.

I've never had a problem with them and have always had at least one since I started reefing.
well...i did have a RED one that picked at a frogspawn once and then left it alone.

I have had 2 emeralds so far. One ate the algae and the other did not. The one that ate it was female if that matters. Hit or miss I would guess, much like peppermint shrimp and aptasia. I got rid of most of mine by using hard airline cut to a point with a siphon on it. I would either chisel it off the rock and suck it out or pop it with the siphon and hope I get all the spores. So far it has worked for me. There are still a few bubbles I have seen but nothing bad.

I had a few bubbles that turned to 10 million overgrew the tank and resulted in me having to breakdown the tank put the liverock outside to kill it. 5 emeralds wouldnt touch it. I have bubble algea nightmares

Have always heard that Sally Lightfoot crabs eat it. Could just be a rumor but might wanna try them out.
