Bubble Anemone eating an Emerald Crab

I noticed that an Emerald Crab was molting by my BTA and then I look over and the Anemone is eating the soft shelled crab. Is this ok for the Anemone. I know it's not good for the crab.

Good riddance! Those damn crabs have done nothing but damage to corals in my tank and persistently ignored the bubble algae they were supposed to fight.

^have you tried emerald crab from reefcleaners. They advertise guarantee bubble eating or money back. I've tried 6 and they worked well...

i had to remove all 6 after BA were gone.

No, but mine were the real deal and all they would do is hang out in the birdsnest corals and feed of them.

Now I'm just peeling off the bubble algae and let my hermits, snails and diadema urchins prevent them from returning. That works.
It also helps to get coralline algae grow like crazy to eliminate all possible settling grounds.

sucks.. not surprised though. crabs, fish, nems.. they are all too unpredictable.

to the OP. Your nem should be fine, specially a soft shell crab. Mine ate fish, snails, shrimps, conch... they spit out the nasty stuff they can't digest..

So, I kept an eye on him. He swallowed the body of the crab, with the legs hanging out, ripped the body off and spit out the legs. Pretty cool show.

I would have paid the $8.00 the crab costs, just for entertainment value.
