Bubble anemone walks

Hi, I got an anemone yesterday and it went behind the rocks and hiding there all the time. It doesnt seem to move after that. Can someone tell me if it will ever come out of hiding? I placed it quite high in the water. Is it scared of light?

It will come out when its ready. If it likes where its at it will stay there. You have to get used to the idea that these things can and will move around your tank at will, but, you have to leave them alone, they will find a spot they like, not a spot you like.

Just be patient. They do that, sometimes they come out, sometimes they dont. Try to keep an eye on it tho. If you can get a little mirror on a stick or something so you can see it back in the rocks. If it looks like its dying, get it out quick. Nothing will foul a tank faster than a dead anemone. The bio-crap it turns into when it dies can kill other livestock.

You may try re-aranging the flow pattern in the tank and see if he moves.

Anemones rarely survive in new tanks. Your tank should be a minimum of 8 months old. What kind of lighting are u running?

anemones will go where ever they please in your tank, its pretty impossible to convince them to stay right where you want them.

Oh man. I bought it because my clowns were feeling lonely and they were resting on mushroom corals. I have 210W T5 lighting. I had toomuch till yesterday I removed on my pumps now it should be ok.

My tank is 1.5 years old and the parameters are ok. I can still see it from an angle and will look for decay if any.

i have a BTA it will stay in one spot for a while then move to a new one, its been on the back side of my bubble coral for a few months now. just dont try to poke it or move it you could injure its foot and it could die and like jbird saidit will foul your tank up fast.

Parameters for an anemone are not necessarily what other cnidarians like. Anemones are very sensitive to changes in pH, so using kalk or a Ca reactor can stress some individuals. Nems should also be drip acclimated for a couple of hours. Its likely in shock
