Heres a pic of our bubble coral we got today:

We took great care trying to place him, as everyone said they can be very mean corals... the furthest we were able to put it from any other corals is approx 4-5 inches and figured we would watch at night and keep an eye out for sweepers. Well, heres the pic I got:

Do the sweepers get much longer than that?!? If not, we're OK for now til the coral starts to grow (which we should be upgraded by then and have TONS more room) If they do indeed get much longer, he will have to be glued to the back glass of the tank until the upgrade. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Also, last question in regards to aggression, is this based just on other corals, or will they sting inverts (specifically clams) that are too close?

From the looks of your picture, I think you might have found the "sweet spot." These corals are very durable IME & very easy to move if things get out of hand. (not yet) It's all good IMO.

awesome, thanks!! the guy at the LFS said they are one of the hardest to keep... and after transporting and putting him in our tank could "take upto a month for the bubbles to come out"... that first pic was about 10 minutes after being in the tank LOL.

Nice looking coral, I have one too, one of my favorites. Bubble corals are easy to care for.

Beautiful Bubble coral.

I actually just got rid of mine yesterday. my 40 gallon had gotten too crowded for it and it was starting to sting other corals. I loved it but I had to let it go.

Just keep and eye on it mine had sweepers around 4-5 inches on a good day.

awesome, thanks for all the response! Its been a favorite of ours for quite some time, but always over $100. Snagged this one today marked down, price matched and coupon, for less than $50. Here's a half tank shot (labeled, since lights are out and some are hard to tell) Is this placement OK, at least until we upgrade in a few months? (55 gal now, will be switching to a 120) Also, I marked where we want to place the clam we are waiting to hear back about getting later this week. Will it be ok there? Thanks again, everyone!!
