Bubble in glass. Is this bad?

It's a very old 75 gallon tank that my uncle gave me years ago. I clean it about once a week and just noticed a bubble about the size of a pen head that was not there last week. Is this a bad thing? I've been thinking about getting a new tank lately for other reasons, but now I'm concerned that I might be running out of time.

You mean a bubble in the silicone? Can you post a pic? I would not use a "very old" tank anyway especially if it has been sitting for awhile. A 75 is not that expensive just go to petsmart and pick up a new one.

Bubble in glass=VERY bad and very unusual. It is a weak spot. Replace ASAP. The lower down, the more dangerous. If it is in the caulking, you can simply remove the old caulking and caulk it yourself.

The only way to fix this is to totally disassemble the tank, clean all the glass, and rebuild the tank using the correct silicone and proper technique. On a 75g tank, most folks consider it not worth the time, effort, or risk.
