Bubble King 250 - Micro Bubbles

Hello:

I recently picked up a bubble king 250, I am having the skimmer input micro bubbles into the sump. Is there a recommended way to solve this?

Anyone with any experience on these skimmers suggest some solutions?

How long has the skimmer been running? It might just be the "Break in" period which is normal.....

It has been running for 2 weeks... anyone have some experience with these skimmers know if their bubbles went away after a while?

You might want to provide some details about the set up, such as how deep is the water it's sitting in, what your salinity is, what type of bioload do you have, how big is the tank, how is the venturi nozzle set up, etc.

If you have pictures of the skimmer running, that would help too.

No offense, but making a post like this would be like going on a car forum and saying "my Camero makes strange noises".

Anyway, hopefully someone here (maybe even myself, lol) will be able to help you with this once we have more information.

the bubbles reduce over time. but even after a couple years i still have some that come out of the bottom of the standpipe. but with how my sump is set up, it was never anything that bothered me.

I have a BK mini 160.. never got any micros since the start.. took 2 days to break in.

Does anyone know of a way to force the water from the standpipe up towards the surface so that the bubbles are forced upwards?

My whole tank is full of micro bubbles right now!!! its sooo annoying!

The BK is @ 9" of water, the ideal is between 8 and 10...
Salinity is 35
everything is stable on the tank, just trying to get rid of those damn micro bubbles!

Tie a small filter sock where the bubbles are emerging from the pipe.

I thought about that but when the sock gets clogged it will cause my skimmer to overflow and put all the nastiness back into the aquarium

Found the solution!

Ok, I think I found the solution to the micro bubble problem...

I found this a few years back and I have been using it for a good 2-3 years (without cleaning it). It has never clogged.

I cut a 1-3/4" slice and put it under the exit part of the skimmer.

Within in 15 minutes I was micro bubble free!

Estefano, is this the BK Supermarin 250? if so, I have the 300 and the way to correct the micro bubbles will be with the input nozzle in front of the pump, normally it should be aligned with the notch on the pump body after one whole turn, from there you can play in and out until no bubbles are coming out.
