bubble magus-BK knockoff

Based on the link you sent before Guillo you are getting the Atman pump. The link in the post just above is for a 150, which I have seen listed on different sites with different pumps.

Why dont you wire up a 220v outlet. Doesnt take long at all..

220v at 50Hz.

Unless this is some type of special pump that can run on a higher frequency than originally designed to, the 60Hz frequency here in the states will most likely make short work of it.

Maybe, maybe not.

This thread has gotten long, so I would like to remind what I posted many pages back when I thought geoxman might be sending me one.

Test the pump, on its own, for an hour in a bucket of saltwater. Unplug the pump before removing it from the bucket.

If it is not fried, it should be fine. If it is fried, you haven't fried your tank.

Will make sure to follow your instructions Ostrow. Looks like geoxman backed down about sending you one.:D

Sure, you smile.

Actually, for the good. I love my skimmer and would hate to take it off line.

Even though I continue to tweak the darned thing.

usually all quality pumps for 50hz wont have trouble working at 60hz.. just need a trfo to increase the volts from 110 to 220..
it will just run faster as they are syncronuos.. so they will run 20% faster and have 15% more water outlet and pressure..

i can see here in italy many pump manufacturer puts labels for 50 and 60 hertz works on their products....

Yeah, but your dealing with China, not Italy. For the most part Chinese KO's are using the cheapest available parts....so they will not be designed/built to the tolerances of Italian motorblocks.

Looks like my skimmer arrived at LAX yesterday, so I should get it in a few days.

Yeah, thats what I'm thinking, but Ostrow is right. We will know when he tests it :)

I do know that Deltec and RE both spent a ton of money getting their pumps to run properly on the 60Hz freq.

I am very interested to see though....:)

I'll admit that the pricetag vs. performance has got my attention -

Awaiting some unbiased commentary from the guy who actually ordered one.

Hopefully, we won't have dozens of "experts" declaring "...it will burn your house down!" like on the whole Odyssea light debacle

Woah!

I didn't even know google was actively monitoring urls for malware.
Anybody been there and got jacked?

Their official website is www.reef-free.com.
BTW they are coming out with a very nice skimmer for smaller tanks, powered by a MJ1000 with needlewheel.
