Bubble Magus NAC3.5 vs SC-65

I am going to be setting up a mixed reef in a marineland 45 cube, 24x24x18 and the sump will be a half filled 20 gallon. I was thinking about getting a Bubble Magus NAC3.5 but then I saw that someone made a clone of it and sells it on ebay. It is called SC-65. It looks like the same skimmer but half the price. Has anyone ever used this skimmer?

I was skeptical, mostly because of the availibility of replacement pumps/impellers but it turns out to be an Atman 1100 which is the exact same pump as the NAC3.5.

Lowest offer the seller would take is $75. Guess I saved $5 on it!

Ted, what did you get the sc65 for? I was set on the bubble magus 3.5 but I am going to get the sc65 instead.

Which is the same pump used on the Eshopps PSK-100. Full bodied skimmer good for up to 100g, and not much more expensive, and small footprint - 10x5x22.

The SC Skimmers are the best kept secrets in reefing. I got the 150 space saver and am happy with it. No complaints

they are the same.
however, I would not recommend that size for your tank. get the higher model. the sc-65 is good for a 30gallon max tank only imho. I used it on a 10 gal QT tank just fine.
