Bubble Nem question

Ok I took the plunge and got a purple and green bubble tipped nem. I expected it to hide, wander around and settle out where I cannot see and enjoy it at first. Well it did none of this. It moved the first night and atached to a rock right up front. It bubbled up and opened up right away. Looks awesome, except that the grren color has faded out some. It colors up some in the evenings but is usually a pale green with purple tips through the day. When I put it in the tank(just a few days ago) it was more of a bright dark green with purple tips. I am thinking that the move from a LFS over five hours away and a new tank is why it has faded but just want to make certian. It did eat real well for me and my clown will not even get close to it, LOL. Any other suggestions to ensuyre its health would be appreciated as weel. This is my first nem and I would love to see it grow and thrive. Thank you, Shaun
P.S. My water params are solid have not changed in months. And I have a combination MH and T5 lighting.

What are the water parameters? (( even if they haven't changed, knowing the numbers could be helpful. ))

How new is the tank, if the parameters haven't changed in months? What are the wattage of the lights that you have, and what lights was it under at the LFS? Did you acclimate it to your lights?

Sounds like it is starting to bleach, need to find out why -- hence all the questions.

I wouldnt worry. Probably still shocked from the move. it took my BTA around a week to even open. looked all deflated and horrible for a week or so. still doing great till this day(bout three years). Yours sounds like it will do fine. just anemone proof your powerheads...

My params are this: Ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 0 PH 8.0 calcium 390 alk 300. I did a three hour drip aclimation. I added it to the tank after the lights were out. I ran the lights lower the next morning and slowly worked them up to power.

What is the salinity?

It takes longer to acclimate them to higher powered lights (( which I am assuming you have, compared to where you bought it from. )). Ideally should place some window screening b/t the tank and the lights (( can use egg create to support the screening )). I have always used 3 layers and removed a layer each week.

I would guess that the LFS you got it from didnt have the lights you have. IF...and not seeing your tank, lights, and etc.. I would say its the lights. If its high in the tank,he may bleach alittle bit. I would say he will come back around.Your perameters sound like they are good. This nem is probably just not use to the lights yet.
