Bubble on elegance

Hi gang. So my elegance recently formed this bubble type of thing on it. I don't know if it is trying to get rid of some part of it that has become....I don't know. It doesn't look infected. Has anyone else seen anything like this? I am thinking of cutting it off.

Don't cut it off! A bubble like this is actually quite common with LPS corals. Some people believe that this is an indication that a coral is in the process splitting. Reproduction is another possibility. The link below might shed some light on these.

Thanks for sharing that article. I will let it be and see what becomes of it. Just to clarify, I wasn't going to slice it and off and toss it. The problem now is that by letting it separate on its own (no idea when this will happen if in fact it does), I have no plan in place to keep it from floating around my tank and getting lost within the rock, or until it gets pureed in my wavemaker. I need a head cover.

If it does come off you could just place it in a small glass bowl full of rubble and put some netting over it. This will keep it from floating away and hopefully over time a skeleton will develop.
