So I have had my bta for a couple weeks but for the past 2 weeks I have had 2 tomato clowns hosting it. Should I still be feeding it? As of now I feed it every 3 days a portion of a frozen shrimp (not brine).
You don't have to feed them. You can, but they are just fine with photosynthesis alone. Often times the fish they are hosting will bring food to them too.
Yeah, if you want to feed it, just drop a large piece of shrimp near a clown, and the clown will grab it and take it straight to the anemone. Since the piece is too big to quickly devour, the clown will lose it to the anemone. *** By large piece, I mean too large for a clown to quickly suck into its mouth and swallow.
I usually only feed my nems about once-twice a month. If they are fed too much or too low nutrient foods they can die. If it is doing well I would leave it alone. As mentioned above it will be a PITA to feed it with the clowns there.
