Bubble Tip Anemones

I just purchased a Bubble Tip Anemone and when I received it from my coral store in was on its own rock with Coraline all over it.
I acclimated it for 3 hours on a slow drip. When I first installed it in the tank everything look great. After my MH turned off the BTA began to move and now is completely of its rock.

I am curious to know why it left the rock from where it had been for a while. Should I have concern? Does it need to eat? It is very active. It currently is sitting up against a decoration that is fake.

Please provide guidance.

It's looking for a comfortable spot possibly. Conditions are different than they were in the store. Hopefully it will stop in a good spot for you. Got your intakes covered?

anenomes like to roam, the three i have finally found spots that they enjoy and happen to all be in great viewing spots for me and my guests too which is a bonus. as dc said just watch your intakes cause they can get sucked in lol... my first anenome actually made his way onto my heater while it was off one night and then got burned pretty bad when it turned on. it was all white and puss covered in the morning but has since been nursed back to health with almost no scar :) they are fun little creatures and will roam to find food sources if you arent feeding them manually or if a clown isnt supplying them food.

I agree with RickGemme, your tank has different conditions, lighting being a big one. The anenome probably didn't like the lighting condition where you placed it so its looking for a more sutible spot to make camp.

I was told by someone with far more experience that I have, to try and find a spot with a deep hole for the anem to get it's foot into. He claimed that it would lessen the chance of the anem moving and splitting etc. He also said that many large anemones found in the wild seem to be "rooted" in a deep hole. You could try drilling a golf ball sized hole and placing it near it. I was lucky enough to have a rock with a hole like that and once I dropped the rbta in near it, it has never moved!
