Bubble-Tipped Anemone Bubbling and Splitting

Hey guys! I have some questions that nobody (even I) knows the answer to, but I'm looking for opinions...

QUESTION #1. I would like to know from the people that have anemone splits often - what are things I can do (types of food, water changes, light timing, water flow, feeding schedule, etc.) that will help my anemone split often?

QUESTION #2. Has anybody noticed anything they did that made the anemone's tips bubble (like water changes, foods, feeding schedule, light timing, etc.)

QUESTION #3. What food (that is already packaged and for sale in stores) will help my anemones grow huge very fast? What can I do to encourage growth?

QUESTION #4. What chemicals can I dose that will help anemones?

1) As it grows, it will split. It will also split when stressed. You could try a LARGE water change. That might do it. when I got my first BTA, I put it in the tank, it went behind a rock for 2 weeks, and then 4 of them popped out.... no wait.. 5. I forgot about the really small one.

2) Mine tend to bubble more under actinics. MAYBE if you went to a more blue bulb it might bubble more.

3) Silversides... raw shrimp... Salmon... anything of marine origin.

1. They'll split when they're happy, and they'll split when they're stressed. I've had mine just split randomly when all's well, and I've also had mine split after dosing alk and some undissolved alk landed on them causing them to close up.

2. all of my roses are stringy-tentacled, kept under 250 watt phoenix 14K bulb in a 56 gallon

3. i used to target feed but now i noticed that their tentacles are SOOO sticky that they will grab on to whatever frozen food i feed my fish (mind you, though, that i feed quite heavily). things like mysis, rod's food ... they're all SOOO huge now that I rarely target feed; however, once in a blue moon i might give them some silversides.

4. no chemicals needed, just regular water changes ... however, i do dose calcium and alk just to help my sps and LPS bc it's a mixed tank

Mine just split yesterday for the 1st time in the year I've had it. Whe I bought it it was about 9" when fully open and a couple days ago it was probably close to 18". I fed it 1/2 of a silverside once a week and it been kept under 250 mh w/ 14k bulb. Cool stuff though. I've been pretty excited it finally did it

Splitting is both a means of reproduction when the anemone gets large and it is also a survival mechanism used when the anemone experiences stress. So, feed it and occasionally make a major change in it's environment. This can be something as extreme as relocating it, a change in flow patterns or buying a new lighting rig or something as passive as a 50% water change.
Putting it in a new system will almost certainly make it split. If you look around you'll hear of a lot of people having them split right after purchase or right after a new tank setup.
