Enough for today. I did some more moving of stuff, then watched as it all cleared and came to life! Very Cool! Thanks again to Richard at TBS! Now to watch for the spikes and keep it under control.

Watched the spikes like a hawk...daily water changes. From last Saturday when I put all that life in there to today...Ammonia spiked some and is now gone, Nitrites came up and are now 0; the Nitrates are up some so I did another change...I have the water changes down to a science and can be done in about 6 minutes.

All the critters made it and seem to be happy... I have not seen the peppermint shrimp though...found some other crabs, etc.

I love the purple Gorg! He gets all fuzzy when he's happy...

I added the new IM Auqa (that's how they spell it) Gadget Skimmate nano skimmer...It was tough to put it in the chamber it was designed to fit in...still not sure it is right...and took me all week to tune it in... but it is now producing foam although it is not dark yet. Had/have some micro bubbles getting through, but the IM booklet said that would happen and they have decreased to the point I no longer notice them, so I think they will stop.

I have two of the 38s I love these tanks but man I would trade one of my 38s for a 16 in a hart beat. Just like the smaller sleek look of them. So anyone up in the DC area wanting a 38 new in box I am willing to trade. Ok sorry don’t mean to thread jack……..

Looks like you got a strong start. Is that rock Fully Cured? Looks a little fresh to me.

Thanks TundraGuy. My last batch of TBS rock I had a mantis. He was very hard to catch but I got him out and took him to the Lfs. This time I don't have one. A pistol though I think as I hear clicks but very rare and seldom.

Ps all of the critters made it, but no sign of the peppermint shrimp. Parameters are very much improved now as it has been a week. I'll give more time but I'd like everyone's opinion on a Nano fish

Here's the tank as of today. Through the cycle and all is well. I saw the peppermint after dark one night so he is fine. Lots of crabs including a little emerald several porcelain and a couple little gorillas I'll trap.

I added the IM Auga Gadget Desktop Skimmate Skimmer made for the Nuvo 16 tank. It was a tight squeeze, but it went in after several trials. I was surprised that the bracket in the manual appeared to me to be upside down. So I wrote to IM and received a response to call the head guy. I did and he was very nice and agreed to send me a new bracket. Not sure it's broke, just backwards though. Still, I was impressed!

After a break in of a week and a bit of concern over micro bubbles, it is now producing foam. Remember I have not even feed the tank much yet!

A Mangrove in the nano overflow... yeah, I know but where else could I put it? No flames, it was a gift! And it's still ok after 2 weeks!

here's a tip of the day:

Take a phone photo of your chemistry tests. The download later will give you the date and time to enter into your log spreadsheet... you do use a spreadsheet right?

Hmm Nitrates are too high... better do a water change...
