building a refugium need help

i want to build my own but i am very confused as to how far apart do i put the dividers how low or high and how do i know where my hi and low water levels in last compartment need to be?

Do you have a skimmer yet? or are you going to put a skimmer in it?

No I know to make a section big enough to house a good skimmer but my question is mainly about dividers how far apart, how far up from the bottom, and the last compartment how to measure enough without overflowing tank

Easiest way to get an ok space is to just use 2 DVD covers between the plates and from the bottom. Should get you a nice 1 inch (2.5cm) ish clearing.

Water levels are mostly made by how high/low does your skimmer need to be and how much space you want for "emergency" if your return pump should fail etc

well I waited until I got my skimmer before I put my dividers in, That way I knew it was going to fit. I would suggest you wait for your skimmer and then com back to this..As far as placement will I am still just a rookie,,but I made my skimmer section just a bit bigger than my skimmer, the total height of my water will be about 6 inches from the tank rim..you might also want to give the size your your sump you will get more help that way

I placed my dividers about an 1.5 apart from each other..if you are going to have 3 sections, really the return section I think that will tell you ha high your water level will be...Do you know how many inches of water the skimmer works best in, that makes a difference also
