Building my Dream: It's a Miracles!

I'd love to see a picture of the mysterious flouresence that you are talking about. Does it only show up under the actinic lights?

any new pics of the tank ? love the tank im thinking of up grading my self to a rimless what are your reviews of rimless?

No new pics, been spending alot of time in basement upgrading the filtration system. Do have many more frags though and will try to get some shots soon, albeit crappy iphone pics. I love the rimless. I do however have a very cleanliness conscious turbo snail that periodically comes out of the warter and poops on the top ledge.

Obtained this ORA Spongodes Monti from a local reefer

I love equipment pics! Almost as much as dt pics! Ok, maybe slightly more as I'm a bit of a techy...

That fish room is too organized. I think I saw some algae out of place in the fuge. lolol

Haha thanks. Next big project though is electrical. No hardwiring just tidying up cords, mounting surge protectors, and labeling each plug. Right now, i have cords all over the place including some below water level.

Yea you would want to fix that before it becomes a shocking experience. :hmm6::hmm6::hmm6:

Worked on the aquascaping today. Originally wanted to go more minimalistic but I over bought from BRS (200 lbs Pukani and 100 pounds Branch). About 40 pounds not being used. Tried to leave clearance on left, center and right for MP40's to be placed on back wall.

Opinions welcome and open to suggestions.

this rock is amazing

Ok im still not able to capture the foresence on film but the light orange/peach colors have grown enough to take a pic with white lights. The pinks and purples are coralline algae the peach and orange is what is believed to be a cyanobacteria that is floresencent This pic only shows a small portion of the full tank that has the coloration. I agree with Charles from Nightsea. Although it looks very similar to an awesome coraline algae, it moves around from day to day. It has become very prevalent. The tank looked awesome last night.

Will be constructing a mesh net frame today using 1/2" cpvc, spray paint, zip ties, and 1/4" polypropylene mesh ( clear). In the past two weeks I have had 4 fish jump, one was saved but lost my male blue throat triggerfish, diamond goby and royal gramma. Why all of a sudden are they jumping? All jumps are at night. What is spooking them?
I am hoping the mesh frame is not too much work to take off for viewing pleasure as I do not want to hinder the aesthetics of the rimless tank.
Male Blue Throat Triggerfish (3-5 inch) are not easy to find. If anyone in the Philly/Trenton area knows of a store that has one please let me know. Will post a pic of mesh frame later, one day behind schedule due to weather conditions.

wow that rock is beautiful, seeing that you still havnt placed much coral on the rock on the far left in my opinion you should try drilling some holes for easy frag/coral insertation. it will be like a giant frag rack!!!!

Yea the rock on the right has numerous perfect size holes for frag plugs. Not too visible on pic but something I did on left is place Zola frags without plugs in the rock and now there growing out- kinda of like planting a seed in the dirt. Either way, little ****ed at myself now for not placing mesh net cover from get go. Really miss my blue throat. But, why after 7 months have the fish started to carpet surf all of a sudden. There have not been any changes in lighting.

Sorry to hear about the jumpers. I had a small red tail trigger that I kept in a 10g(29g was down) QT tank. I was about ready to put it in my DT in a few days, but it jumped during afternoon hours.

Now I cover all my tanks with eggcrate including QT tanks, except for my 33g reef(2 clowns and a bangaii)
