Bulb Choice for my BioCube 14

So I'm debating between getting a 10K Daylight and an actinic blue bulb or getting two combos (10K daylight/Actinic Blue).

Is there a downside to the combos? I'm thinking the combos will give me better dispersion of spectrums throughout the tank.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Not the answer you want, but its like guns and holsters. You will eventualy wind up with a drawer full of holsters till you get the perfect one.

One will give you color and slow growth other growth and bland color and so on. In your case I have had both and still have no preference. Never did a Par, but as you said the combo sounds better. Never realy liked CF's but with that tank you have no choice.

My 2cents - I have a BioCube29 and thought the same thing and switched. Maybe I got bad 50/50 bulbs but my tank didn't look the same, worse growth, and increased algae, so I swtched back. Someone told me the 10,000s in a 50/50 are not truly 10,000...

PS, I am in Tucson too, but have been mainly active on another site, I won't mention them here I guess, but I have a pretty long build thread with tons of pictures if you are interested. Maybe I can re-build that here too eventually...

Thanks for all the input. I went with one actinic and one daylight. Those nanotuners bulbs are so much betetr than the stock ones and I didn;t even get the UVLs.
