Bulb lifespan

I've been changing VHO bulbs every 6 months for almost 10 years now... but my new tank has both MH (10,000K) and compact fluorescents (actinics) bulbs. What's the lifespan of these two bulb types?

When I was using Power Compacts I changed them every 6 months.

Personally, I change my bulbs yearly.

We seem to follow roughly the same scheduled, Jay. I replace VHO's and PC's at 6 months, SE MH at 9 months and DE MH at 12 months across the board.

I change mine yearly as well. One more reason for the club to have a PAR meter, know when to change our bulbs!

I change PC's every 6 months.

When I've gone 8-9 months, I notice too dramatic a difference when I change which tells me that I had let them deteriorate too much.

So, If my PC bulbs have been burning since Jan 2006, I need to change them, huh? I guess the whole "wait until the bulb blows" model doesn't work here, huh?

Mr. Prez, I need 6 bulbs.... . Group lighting order next?.....

yeah I think its time for me to get bulbs. I used the xm 15k bulbs last time. Loved the color but looking for more par. what do ya'll think of the XM 10k?

I've got a brand new XM 10K. Used it 1 day.
