Bulk carbon??

Does anyone know any places to buy carbon in bulk? There used to be a guy on eBay that sold it in 5 gallon buckets, but I can;t seem to find him, I don't think he sells on there any more. Does anyone have any good sources to get carbon in bulk for a good price?

Bulk Reef Supply has 5 gal. cans. I would also watch there videos on carbon. Very informative.

Man the guy on ebay was selling 30 lbs for like $50 shipped and it wa the most concentrated and efficient stuff I have ever used.

From the ebay seller it would be, $57.75 each for 14lbs, the BRS stuff is $73.46 for 15lbs. So the ebay guy is still way cheaper

Leif, I don't remember their pricing, but airwaterice.com sells bulk activated carbon (even though they don't have it listed on their website--phone call needed.)

(The only issue I had with them is that they ship in gallon ziplocks and one opened up in the box.)

You saw my tank - I haven't used any Carbon in over a year or two.
I keep small amounts around in case I have to dose the QT, but thats about it.

I dont know what I am doing wrong or right, but based on the fact that I have ZERO algae growth in the display ( but grow macro in the sump under LEDs ) and great coral growth, I choose not to mess with anything too much.


Having that big skimmer might help though ;-)

Are you ready for some of that Torch-spawn yet, or did you get a piece last time you were here?
