Bulk reef Supply Group buy

I am putting together a group buy for MTRC, which means rock bottom pricing from BRS. If we get 10 folks ( of which we have 3 or 4 already) then we qualify. I am extended invitation to ETRC to jump in here, as the more the merrier.

It works very simple. You sign up for an account with BRS if you don;t have one already, and then I will submit the accounts all at the same time in the near future. Once BRS gets it, they will open up the rock bottom pricing for those accounts for one week. Your order gets shipped to you.

See my thread at http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1641555 for more details, and hope to see some of you jump in on this!!

Andy~ We already have the group discount... If my understanding is correct, you only have to get 10 people's names and e mail addresses, even if they don't join in on the current order, they are updated with a list of discounted items...

Here's how we did it back then...

I would encourage any of our newer members that did not jump on this last time to do so now... You aren't obligated to buy anything by signing up, and BRS has some great prices on quality goods...

Randy,

It is not an all time thing. Once you participate in a group buy, your account then gets preferred status (i have it) and things are slightly less expensive. In a group buy, everyone involved gets the bottom tier in pricing and it is even cheaper. SO even though you have participated before, it may still be advantageous for you to participate.

I just ordered from them a few weeks ago... :(

I must have preferred status though... :D I know I pay less than what its listed for...

They aren't out yet. But I am getting ready as I ahve purchased a Ca reactor and at this point, the Phprobe and SL2 are all that's missing. I am finishing assembling my cabinets to hide thegear this eveniong and move intop the house over the eekend.

I was wondering why I couldn't find them anywhere... I'm still trying to decide if I'll get one or not...

I didn't realize BRS ORP probes were so darn cheap... :eek1: I just bought one last week from PA...

Bummer. I got my ORP from BRS and it works just fine. Ryan tests every probe beoe it ships so that was a big plus.

Oh well, I know where I'm going to get my next ORP probe... ;) Though I doubt it will be for a while... lol

How much have your ORP readings increased since you when to your I tech???

Not drastically. Up some,..but still steady. ORPis simply an electrical measurement. Skimming may or may not have a huge impact on it. I just use it as a general indicator.

ORP in the aquaria is an electrical measurement, but it is also a measure used to indicate a "system's ability to eliminate wastes"...

"Saturated Oxygen Levels and High Redox Potential...
... are at least indirectly stimulating to stressed coral, and conducive to overall, high water quality. The use of ozone, protein skimmers, iodine supplements and ion exchange resins are some of the most common ways to improve water quality and decrease the level of dissolved organics (beyond good old-fashioned water exchanges). Such water quality, likewise, is not usually conducive to competitive growths of nuisance organisms, like encroaching algae species."

Here's an old article by Randy Holmes Farley that goes over ORP in a fair amount of detail... It shows the relationship between ORP and pH, and the relationship between ORP and dissolved organics as well...

Well I tried to PM you, but your box is full.
Specifically, what do you need from me to get me started on this?
When will our stuff ship out?
Do I pay BRS directly?
Please PM me with this info.
TY. :)
