Bulkhead / power connector for Osmolator

I am trying to make my Osmolator fresh water reservoir watertight. I am going to run the 1/4" tubing through a John Guest bulkhead, but I don't know how to get the power cord for the pump through the wall of the reservoir (one of these drums).
Does anyone know how I can get power to the Osmolator pump trough a watertight bulkhead? Thanks.

Have you seen our reservoir? It has two holes near the top that while not water tight are pretty close. I wouldn't use a really large reservoir because it eliminates a level of safety from a smaller reservoir that couldn't add so much water to cause a problem. I think such a set up will be unreliable because the pump coupling will get moist, corrode and short. Their is also the issue of a taller reservoir being more difficult to install and avoid the siphon risk. It will definitely have to pump up the tank but the tank must be taller than the reservoir.

I guess I could pass the power cord through a bulkhead in the drum and seal it with silicone.

Roger: I did consider the Tunze reservoir, but I went with the drum instead because I want to be able to place my Nilsen reactor in the container to minimize the risk of spills in case the tubing gets clogged and the connections fail. The Tunze reservoir is not tall enough for the reactor to fit. I don't plan on filling the drum with more than the 10 gallons that fit in the Tunze reservoir, for the reason you mentioned.

Could you elaborate on the risk of the pump coupling corroding with the setup I am planning? Also, I don't see a siphon risk because the tube that dumps the topoff water into my sump is not submersed, but let me know if you think I may be missing something here. Thanks.

If the water level in the reservoir is taller than the sump you will have a problem, please note the manual always illustrates the hose going to the tank.

The wires connect with a euro coupler, this is a fairly exposed connection and it was not meant to be sealed in a humid environment. If you make the coupling outside the reservoir it should be fine.
