Bulkhead Question - Help Please

I have some questions about bulkheads...

- My tank is 110 Gallons, dimensions are 31 5/8 H x 48 L x 17 3/4 W
-- Pre-drilled holes are 2 1/2" and 1 3/4"
- Sump is 30 Gallons
- Pump is a Eheim 910 GPH

What size Bulkheads should I buy, and does the size of the hole matter? Thanks in advance.

The hole size determines what size bulkhead you can use. Given its a 110 I assume the holes were meant for sch40 bulkheads. That gives you a 1" for return and 1.5" for drain.

Should I go with a Sch80 instead?

I went with mostly schedule 40 because it's readily available at Home Depot and Lowe's. I mixed some Schedule 40 with some Schedule 80 valves and fittings, and that's been working fine as well. As for the drain/return sizing, I'll have to defer to tkeracer, but that sounds about right. You can also double check with Bulk reef supply, they sell bulkheads and you can always email them specific questions.

Sch 80 is thicker. It will require bigger holes or smaller bulkheads.

Stick with sch40. You have no need for 80.
