Bulkhead Question

I installed a threaded bulkhead in my new sump. I placed a threaded ball valve at the exit with a "nipple" screwed into each end, and then screwed one end of the ball valve into the threaded bulkhead. When I tested it dry, I had a very small leak (1 drop every 5 minutes coming from the connection of the nipple and ball valve...not the bulkhead). I put teflon tape on both nipple threads and tightened every thing up. It's been two hours now without leaking a single drop. Sound good to go?, or should I also place a bead of Silicone around the bulkhead flange where it meets the interior wall of the sump?

wouldnt hurt, but its also most likely not nescessary.

IME small leaks tend to plug themselves. not ideal, but just saying if you did have a tiny leak, itd probably stop overtime as calium and salt accumulated.
