i recently sawa bulkhead wrench that came with a megaflow kit. It was just small pressed metal sized to fit bulkheads. I need to buy one anyone seen them in a LFS or have one for sale?

Thanks jack, those will work perfectly. Im trying to tighten a bulkhead inside and overflow (installed upside down) and those are smaller than the one I had seen

Anyone local with either style?

Well, I think the problem is sometimes you can't get your hand on them very well. At least in my case. Also, even if you can get at them, the larger ones like 1.5" are pretty tough to tighten by hand IME. Also depends on the glass thickness - I can't imagine breaking the glass on my 180 but a smaller tank with thin glass would break pretty easily I'm sure.

I usually use a rubber "strap wrench" - I don't know their real names, but you can get them at Home Depot, Lowes, Harbor Freight, etc. They work OK but not great when things get crowded.

Im pretty sure RDMPE is right, Ive never had a problem with ones I coudl get to but these keep leaking, I am putting them in from the bottom up so the bottom of the tank is flush and can sit on the stand. They are just to seal the overflows off on a sump type setup, problem being my gorrilla paws cant get a decent grip on them to tighten. Someone with smaller fingers may be able to get a grip but not me:) I may not even be able to use the bulkhead wrench, we will see.

I've got a few laying around the house. I can send you one if you want? Just let me know. If so, PM me with your address and it will be on it's way tomorrow!

CStires you have PM

MFP I thought about useing a hammer and a long pipe to bump them tight then figured thats probally not bright.... dodnt want to post pics of my new 125g of glass shards:)

cstires, nice meeting you to. sorry I had to run so quick. tool worked perfectly and has been added to my list of most important aquarium gadgets;)

CStires hooked me up but the wrench is well worth the investment. The one he gave me fits 3/4 and 1" bulkheads but champion lighting may hev them available for other sizes to.
