Bulkheads

I am just starting the piping on my 280 and have heard two trains of thought on bulkheads, what is your preference gasket inside/wet side or gasket on the outside with the bulkhead siliconed on the wet side?

I have 2 two inch and a one and a half to install in the overflow box and want to get it right the first time.

The gasket should go on whatever side of the glass your flange is on.

I prefer to have the flange on the inside as well as the gasket.

Like rjsilvers said it usually goes on the wide flange side or water side. The gasket will help seal it from leaking. Tighten it up enough to compress the gasket but not squish or displace it out.

Thanks, I will do just that it makes a lot more sense than gasketing the dry side. Plumbing has started and the fun is just beginning.
