bullet 2 skimmers

Has anyone used one of these? Are they any good. I have a friend who has one. He is not on the forums. Its rated for 250g. I dont want it because I will have more like 350g and I have already agreed to buy a different one that I think is perfect for me but if its good then maybe I can pass it along to someone else. this skimmer has A external pump with it.

It is a beckett style skimmer. Uses a big pump. Alot of folks (especially UNLS folks) like the beckett or venturi style skimmers. I have used both in the past. The biggest thing with a skimmer in my experience is sizing for the tank/bioload. If oversized, the thing will idle too much and is a pain to adjust. Undersized will work better when wet skimming, getting just right seems to be trial and error. For a 300 gallon, I would try and get an 8-10" base skimmer with maybe one of the newer modified cones. FAIOS knows their stuff on skimmers and would be worth a trip to talk to John (I think that is the owners name). To me, skimmer is heart of the system, so make sure it's right if your doing SPS.

Thank Janes mw. i wil talk to John since I need to see him about a god tune up on my new "used" skimmer I picked up tonight. I have wanted one for a very long time. Got an Itech and not just an Itech but an Itech 400. I am like a kid at christmas. Never been so excited about a piece of equipment before. Going to make A new post about it.

I have used the Becket skimmer's and I loved them. The pump is key. Needs to be pressure rated and the water that is pushed through it the better they perform. How much does he want and what pump with it?

250$ Skimmer, Pump. remote overflow and sump from precision marine. The whole system is a package deal. I can post a pic if any one likes. Its not great but I can get more. I think the price is more then fair with the sump included
