are bumble bee snails bad in a reef tank i have hear they may eat zoos and polys but what are your experinces with them in a reef

Hey, I've had my one bumblebee snail about a year... I almost never see him, but invariably, once a month or so, I'll see him lumbering around, completely covered in various calcerious stuff like algae and worms...

I have a zoa-centric tank, so if he were eating them I'd know. Mine has done nothing of the sort, though they are listed as occasionally carnivorous.

i have about 15-20 bumble bees never had a prob with them eating zoos, they re good a clean up too and if your buying them for there colored shells just be forewaorned they will be corriline covered soon and just look like purple snails and also mine really only feed at night

according to Dr. Ron's book i have the Engina mendicaria bumblebee snails are whelks, and are predatory on other snails and worms. however i have found theres another snail, Pusiostoma mendicaria thats being sold as bumblebees as well. these maybe less predatory than the others, i dont know personally. that may be a good question for me to ask the Dr. :)theres lots of success stories with them and probably just as many horror stories as well. its really up to you. but i have not herd of them eating zoos.

I have some. Their shells are totaly overgrown with coraline so I can't tell where they are until I see them move. Haven't seen any bad behavior.
