yeah I dont know if it is swinging like 1 point a day and im just testing at the wrong times and thats why it seems steady? but I am going to start testing twice a day now and make sure its not swinging. The weird thing is that its only the tenuis and the milles have great PE and no burn or whatever is going on at the tips. I will take some pictures tonight.
I saw some threads on these things called white bugs that are similar to red bugs but going inside the tips of the sps and causing them to slime and then receade so I am going to test the tank for that. I have no inverts besides like 4-5 snails so I really have nothing to lose besides the $20 to get Dr G (already mixed interceptor since the local vet wouldnt script me some) so it is well worth it to see if that does anything. I cannot get close enough to notice any "white bugs" on the corals but I am going to treat for it anyways because it does not harm anything besides inverts.
I actually did away with GFO and good point by jda- ran a spike of alk all the way up to 11.5 and was running GFO. It was from a Bad Alkalinity Hanna checker kit. Its always good to have 2 types of Test kits.
I know this is a pretty obvious thought, but is it possible the lighting is too strong or maybe not strong enough? I can't tell from the pics, and I'm nowhere near the level of jda but just another thing to think about.
Here it is at night. I'll post some pictures of the other frags which I think are doing great and have great PE. Regarding the lights, I really don't think they're a problem. I have a Sunpower 8x80w that is 4 coral plus and 4 Blue plus. It is around 10-12 inches off water level. I have never used a par meter because no one around me has one and I don't wanna spend hundreds on one to use it like 2 times a year. I wish I could borrow someone's.
