Burnt out...***

My lights did not turn on today. Hit the switch, lights on for 1/2 second. Checked the timer, I messed with the plugs, checked the fuse on my ballast, nothing. Lifted lid and hit the switch, 2 bulbs did not fire...hmmm Well luckily I had some bulbs laying around, because the icecap wouldn't fire without all bulbs in place(I wasn't about to re-wire my retro). The bulbs are 1 month old and burnt, always something with me. I emailed the place I ordered them from(of course no phone#) and am awaiting their response. Happy Monday every1:rollface:

do you have a fan on the endcaps if not thats why you are burning bulbs fast if you are truely overdriving you need to keep a fan on the end caps to keep em cool or you will smoke bulbs very prematurely.... are the bulbs black at the ends?

Same thing happened to me, I bought a fixture on month ago and on saturday one bank of T5's didnt fire. Traced it to a bad bulb.

Sean: I have fans blowing on the endcaps, no they are not black. I just wanted a different bulb look, thats why I changed them recently, no problems previously.

Zach: bummer, i'm still waiting for their(online store) response. Did they warranty them?

Did all your aquascience bulbs burn out? I was gonna order some....let me know if they replace them....cherry corals are supposed to stock them...

Joe Cherry Corals does sell them but the 22k bulbs are sold out right now.

I'm not sure, I want to try them. I know that everyone in the SPS forum loves them. I still need to get up to salty to get a Fiji Purple..

I wish they stocked ATI too... I think in time Salty will. I hate paying the high shipping cost for high end bulbs. I have 8 t5s so replacing all 8 plus shipping is way to expensive.

Yeah I just replaced all my bulbs 5 months ago, so I'm not going to be due for about 5 or 6 months... but when I'm ready I will for sure do that.
