So my Diamond goby did some tank rearranging yesterday and where my blue/purple florida ric was was a pile of sand when I got home, tried to gently dig for it but couldnt find it, and I know they can get tiny when super ****ed.

Anyone know if Rics can dig themselves out of sand? if not I might try again tonight to find him, was my favorite along with my purple yuma.

OK, although no replies thought Id update, in the Goby's new home he made I saw the edge of the ric down in there, so somehow it ended up under the rock in the goby's little mancave. Now I need to figure out how to get it out of there without dmg'ing it and disturbing too much else.

Of course the rock is one of the base rocks with everything on top of it so I cant pull it right now. May need to get in there with a small stick and gently dig him out. It was open while under there even with no light getting to it so I kind of hope it migrates out on its own.

rics are very sensitive to sand- not if it gets on it, but if it gets rubbed like if a hermit pushes it across the sand. they will tear and melt- i would gently dig it out, put it in a spot with gentle flow incase it did get a tear, and go from there. if it is hanging on a rock, i would leave it, it will eventually move or float to where it wants- if you try to move it, you could damage it.

OK so to update, the goby ended up helping a bit when he made the opening to his cave bigger I was able to gently pull him out with my finger and I place him on one of my lowest rocks where he was out of the sand and the goby's mess area and he seems to be doing fine, no tearing or anything apparent, 2nd day he is starting to spread out on the rock so it looks like he will be fine. Will try to feed it tonight and see if he eats.
