Bursa Trigger

Does any one here have a bursa trigger? I have had mine for about a year and has not grown much. He probably is 3 inches and i feed him all sorts of food like shrimp, krill, squid, and carnivore flakes but still hasnt grown. Was wondering if anyone noticed this too in their Bursa. Do you think i am not feeding enough variety or are they just slow growing?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.:)

Also do you think it would be ok to add a Piccaso Trigger or would they be too similar and fight. I realy like their coloration.

Rhinecathus species are notoriously slow growers according to Bob Fenner of Wetwebmedia and from what I've seen of them.

I would recommend a 75gal tank or larger. Keep in mind Triggers in general eat alot. So keeping them fed prevents them from picking on each other....or anything else.

Definate slow growers....I would say hit or miss to add the Huma, I would think in a 180 you be ok, reverse order would have been ideal as Bursa are typically more aggressive, but I think it would work, I have seen Huma's with Rectangle Humas without issue.

If this can work, I am sure your experiment can too!!!

If you keep another trigger with it, I'd get one that is not in the Rhinecanthus or Sufflamen genus. Maybe try a pinktail or a Niger? They are both "mellower" triggers that can generally stand up for themselves.

I'm sure if you had a several acre patch of ocean, you too might be able to recreate the scene in the post above. :)

i agree with everyone here their slow growers in comparison to clown triggers but seem to proceed at a steady rate,as far as actual sizes their the same as a picasso, having said that ive only ever seen 1 big picasso (10'') their rare enough to be pretty impressive and desirable

i have a bursa, clown and picasso together in a 125g and they get on fine, the clown was there first then the picasso and bursa went in together, just watch for bullying,id be looking for a picasso bigger than the bursa if your adding it by itself
