Busted Tunze: Good deal?

I bought a used 6200 today from an lfs for $30. It was cheap cuz it wasn't working and neither they nor I know for sure what's wrong. When you plug it in the motor kicks on but the prop just vibrates, it doesn't spin. I noted the alarm didn't go off when I plugged it in dry, I thought that usually caused it to go off. Anyways, after looking closer I noticed that there didn't seem to be a propeller shaft in it, and although I'm not very familiar with Tunzes I'm pretty sure there should be one. So I'm hoping all I have to do is by a new prop with shaft and wa-la... what a bargain! Or I am I just not that lucky... anyone have any thoughts? Where do I buy a prop from? If I can get it working I think I'll need a controller as well, since I've only got a 100 gal with a SSB. I'm thinking a 6200 running full tilt would equal sand storm. TIA for any advice on how to fix this thing!

Our pump design for the 6200 has no shaft, from what you describe the driver or motor is likely bad but you still made out OK, you are likely looking at a repair cost of about $100-$150. Send it in and I will test it and quote you for the repairs and if you decide to go ahead I have the parts in stock.
