Butterfly Fish and Nuisance Anemones

I have heard that some Butterfly fish will eat aptasia and the other type of nuisance anemone, that I can't remember the name of. Has anyone found this to be true? If so, what kind of butterfly fish. I know some of them eat hard or soft coral. I would need one that will not eat hard coral. I can't put shrimp in the tank, so I am looking for an alternative.

My copperband ate all the aptaisia in my tank and is working on the majanos now. Hasn't touched any corals including Zoas. He loves PE mysis and live clams.

I would go with a copper banded butterfly peppermints have never worked for me. I have not yet tried a tile fish yet. Good luck and happy reefing.

Well, a racoon for sure will clean up aiptasia but it may clean up desirable inverts as well.

I tried a matted filefish prior to the copperband and it loved to eat every coral in my tank especially my SPS. It went back within a week.

A copperband will work, and there's a type of banner fish that is reef safe that may eat aiptasia. Looking for a reef safe fish that will eat anemones is tricky because it's almost an oxymoron.
