Butterfly for Aiptasia

Hello everyone,

I have a real quick question. I'm looking to pickup a butterfly for my tank to help combat my aiptasia overgrowth I've got going on. However I wanted to check on some compatibility issues that might come up. I'm not worried about my fish stock as i only have some bar gobies, a flame hawk, and other small fish. What I'm curious about is my corals. In the tank I have a few zoa's clusters, some gsp, frogspawn, and a green torch. I've read that butterflies will nip, but I'm curious will it eat any of my corals?? I know each fish is different, but just wanted to check in with the group.

Thanks,
Mark

chances are that if they eat aiptasia, they will eat corals. if you cna get a healthy one, a coral babded butterfly may eat aiptasia and is probably on of the safer butterflys. Raccoons, auriga, and kleins will eat the aiptasia, but they will eat your coral as well. why not just use joes juice or kalk paste on the aiptasia?

I've been using joe's juice, but they just keep springing up everywhere... I was going to get a butterfly to help keep them in check in those hard to reach places..
