butterfly vs angels

Hello,
never kept a butterfly in reef before [except CBB] but have kept almost all angels in reef.

wanted to know, how butterflies compare to angels, in terms of polyp eating ?

was thinking declivis or tinkeri or tinkers

plan is to add one to my matured SPS reef.

thank you.

I think the two easiest (aside from CBB) are the pyramid and kleins, but it really comes down to the individual. I've put 3 in a mature 600 gallon SPS dominated tank and they are model citizens, but the two I put in a 400 gallon mixed reef went right after the delicious red planet

so kinda same as angels it seems.

all my Angels nip on corals, but none of them cause that much damage, some nipping here and there which I am okay with.

I have owned both a pair of Declevis and a pair of Tinker's. The Tinkers were in a 300 gallon FOWLR, the Declevis were in my old 200DD mixed reef. The Declevis took an immediate liking to the SPS and brain coral. But again this was a relatively small system compared to the 600 gallon mature SPS tank that was mentioned above. Depending on the angel, they can be less destructive to coral than a butterfly in the same size tank(200 gallon).

Now in a large tank (240+ gallon 8'-10' tank) I think you could get away with a couple of butterfly without them heavily damaging any of your mature SPS.
