Buying my ocellaris a mate... Please help!

I have an ocellaris that I inherited with an older tank. Not sure how old it is, but I'm pretty sure it's been alone for awhile so I can probably buy another and pair them.

Here's the situation. It's probably a stupid question, but better safe than sorry!

I called my local fish store and asked if they have any ocellaris in stock. They said they have two small ones left. Here's my question... If there are two of them that have been in a tank together, is there any chance they have paired off? How long would it take them to pair off? How will I know if they have?

I would just hate to buy one and bring it home only to have it not pair off with my current clown. Thanks!

Before you buy one, make sure you ask a few questions first.

First ask how long those ocellaris have been in their holding tank. If they were there for less than a week then don't buy then till they have been there for at least a week.
Then ask them to feed the ocellaris..if they eat then they are healthy..I would use extreme caution with a fish that doesn't eat at the lfs.

Also make sure there is no damage to their fins.

If all this checks out good..then buy one

Your ocellaris will have no trouble pairing up if your new ocellaris is smaller than the one you currently have.

good luck:thumbsup:
