So I went out to run errands today and found myself at Aqualife and YR and Walmar and Petco.
Walmart didn't have anything. So over to Petco in Rocklin. I was actually surprised by the fish they do have. Two spot wrasse, green eel (that says it is actually a goby), couple of coral banded shrimp, and a whole palette of 10g tanks for 12 bucks. They even have a huge fish compatability chart on the wall.
I still didn't get the warm fuzzy feeling so I moved on to Aqualife...they are open, but re-doing the store, so *shrug*
I ran over to YR and talked to John and the youger guy, dark hair, for quite a while. Explained everything I explained here. Basic thought was, if you are going to like the hobby, there is no reason to go small now. Spend what you can afford and get what you will keep for years to come. If you are unsure about time and desire, go small. They suggested a 20 or 29 with a 10g sump. Another guy was in there that even suggested a glass shop that will drill for about 10 bucks, Orangevale Glass. I just need to figure out the overflow box.
I think this is my best bet at this point. I just need to pull the trigger and do it. If I am staring at empty tanks it will motivate me to quit analyzing this to death and start tinkering.
Anyone got a suggestion on an overflow? I was thinking to email Melev or something.
