Thanks guys. Those flamingo tongues are beautiful, but they probably aren't good aquarium inhabitants unless your seafans are growing out of control. I don't think they are poisonous (at least not from handling them).
Neowind, we visited a couple of locations on Tortola and Virgin Gorda (you have to see the Baths; so-so marinelife, but the swim-throughs, tunnels, etc are great), The Indians--a good snorkeling site with nice coral since it is too deep for the tourists to walk on it

as a plus for those so inclined, you can climb to the top and jump into the ocean

, Norman Island (fairly good snorkeling along the shores of the Bight), Peter Island, Sandy Spit (very good diving on the ocean side as there is a reef wall covered with marinelife that goes straight down from the surface to about 50'), Jost Van Dyke--actually White Bay on the side facing Tortola was very good snorkeling with lots of fish, hard and soft corals, etc (didn't have my camera there though).
Some of the bays/harbors have good snorkeling, but I should mention that the sewage laws as they apply to boats are not enforced in the BVI, and most of the boats (including our catamarans) have no holding tanks and are plumbed directly into the sea, so it would be a good idea to take a look at the currents and snorkel appropriately. I couldn't believe it, but the local captains said it is the norm there...BVI doesn't permit jet-skis, but you can dump the ship's bilge on a reef
