My latest coral piece from LA ordered a speciosa acro also but damn thing died upon arrival. Other coral seems to be doing well. Only problem im having is getting dosage of two part right because of everything i have added. Going to get this tank stable before adding anything else. Will try to take some sort of fts and pics of frags here soon.*
Here is a quick fts I took of the tank with my iPhone. Going to try to take a few close ups of coral tomorrow with my other camera. (as close as I can with the crappy camera)
I am dosing 2ml of vodka daily and 3 ml of mb7 once a week. The cyano and byropsis algae have dissappeared. There are just a few spots of ha remaining. I moved my bonsai cause it was losing some color so I moved it lower in hopes to bring deeper purple back out.*
The base on the Mille looks like it is receding. I would check it for AEFW, a lot of Maricultured corals coming in have been infected with acropora eating flatworms.
Yea it came in like that from them. I dipped it in revive per bottle directions and didn't notice anything come off. That doesn't mean I didn't miss something. To me it seems like it's stopped. I guess I can redip or frag if I have too.
Was browsing through my pics on my iPhone and come across pic of my birdsnest frag when I got it last month right after Xmas. I guess I need to take pics every month or so to see the growth.*
Ya birdsnest grows way to fast for my liking so i have chosen to never have that type of birdsnest ever again. It is almost like a weed with how fast it will grow. It will even grow fast under PC lights. It looks good though. When it starts to get ball shaped due to all the branching you might find it hard to keep the center from STN'ing.
Although it's not the clearest picture in the world because it's with my iPhone and these are really small, but while looking at my tank these evening I noticed that I have baby banded trochus snails! This is the second time they spawned for me but the first in the breeder. Here is a pic. They are hard to spot cause there shells blend in with the coraline on the lr.*
FTS
I am in the middle of converting to a bare bottom tank. Each wc I vacuum out some sand. I'm going to add acans to the bottom around my Duncan. Everything else will stay SPS on the rocks.*
Here are the pics. All of them are from procorals.com. I was able to remove 5 out of the 7 plugs and place them on the 3x3 acrylic. I ran outta super glue gel so the remaining two I still need to affix them straight to the acrylic.
Finished adding a little sand to my tank today. It's a very thin layer probably 3/8 thick is all. If only it would stay this white. Cut off some frags of my dark pink birdsnest and two of my red milli. Going to sell a few of my sps frags and move a couple around. My wife loves my Duncan coral and would like more "interesting" coral in the tank so I think I may grab a hammer or frogspawn after selling off a couple pieces. The tank itself is doing nice. Colors seem to be good and stuff is growing. I am down to .1 ml of vodka a day and at the end of this week I will be finished doing it. I want to keep this simple with dosing two part and doing wc. I have no complaints with vodka and mb7 dosing and if I need to later down the road I will start again.
