BZ S. Gigantea

Looking good. That's pretty much a dead ringer for how my BZ tan looked.

This is it today. It's tan and lavender. Had it since 9/2

I have it under a metal halide right now and fed it some fresh mahi mahi with a few tentacles from my other gig a few days ago to try and get some zoox going in the little guy. So far I "think" I can see a little bit of darkening of top tentacles just below the colored tips. Might just be my eyes playing tricks on me!

10th day off Meds. Still feeding every other day with fresh Mahi Mahi soaked in Selcon. Probably wait about another week to put it in my main tank. Can two gigs be in a tank touching each other without incident ??

I was able to order a Blue Zoo green gigantea several weeks ago. Treated for 4 days with cipro. Never deflated at all, so stopped treatment early. Tomorrow will be week 4. Been feeding with PE mysis.

First week in treatment tank

Third week in main tank
Bleached but stable, have never seen anemone deflated
I am not sure why the bleaching. Too much light? I used a kessil 150 about 2.5-3' away in treatment tank. Currently under Ai Sol blues about 2' under the lights. Can stress of shipping or antibiotics treatment cause zooxanthellae death and subsequent expellation.

how often do you guys change QT water after treatment???

I don't have much luck QTing carpets.. they seem to get worse. I tried changing 50% water to changing 100% to tank transfer..

and seems like everyone's carpet stays put in QT.. I put mine in a cup or bowl (usually haddoni) and they move all over the tank..
