BZA clownfish

hey BZA,

just was passing by your site and its time for the clownfish sale!!! first off i love you guys, i have made around 4-6 orders in the past and usually everything comes in great, there was an issue with my last order, but we got that all squared away.

Anyway, just wondering but on the ocellaris clownfish that are on sale, would there be any mis bars by anychance? i have an new obsession with misbar clownfish.

Thanks for the question, enthusiasm and comments. We appreciate it. Ummm, I don't think any of the clowns are miss barred. I did a quick scan before responding and nothing popped out at me. Granted there are quite a few here. We will keep our eyes open for you though.

also i have a question on the assorted tangs, can you be alittle more specific on what species is actually there if i make an order this week.

lol. Great question. Many Acanthurus tangs look identical as juveniles. When these guys are caught, they are sold to consolidators as assorted with no regional collection attached. They are then sold to distributors as assorted with no regional collection info at all. So, it is really only a guess as to what any of these species could be. I have seen them come in as auranticavus, leucocheilus, blochii and xanthopterus but then there are some that we can't even correctly ID. Hope that helps somewhat.

thanks for the reply, one last question how big is the size difference between the small and medium ocellaris, and be honest, is the quality good on this batch? you can pm me if you would like.

The mediums are running a touch large in my opinion and the smalls are the typical small size. So the size difference is pretty big. I think the quality of this shipment was above average for sure. The mediums are holding up great and seem to be shipping really well based on early accounts. Same for the smalls. The weather is getting better in most areas so shipping is getting easier too. Hope that helps.

im actually looking now at the true perculas, any chance of some pictures? and what about the sizes of large and med.


I received a webmail from you guys about a couple months ago from your new true perculas, and i order two meds. one large and one smaller, (assuming male and female)

But anyway, one died on arrival and now i have the bigger one, fully great, we got the order taken care of but how large are the large because i dont want it to fight with my med large one now.

nice patterns? black etc... pics would be great but text is also great.

Questions are great. We love questions. It might be easier to answer though through normal email. you can send further questions to customerservice@bluezooaquatics.com.

The perculas here are all from Solomon which produces really nice fish. Lots of black and rich coloration. They do much, much better than Indo collected percs as well which is nice.

You may be better off getting a small size as a replacement. It is really hard to tell male and female in the medium and even in the large size. We can assume the larger ones are female (but not always) and the smaller ones are male. The really small ones are juvi and not even at the male sexual stage yet so regardless if yours are male or female, the juvis will be fine.

anyway, no pictures, but im really hung up.... deciding between the large and medium true perculas.

like how large is large.assuming the numbers are just representive. when ever i order MEDs from you there is one rather large and one smaller. so how much larger are the LGs and would you say they are nicer in coloration?

i think im set on the MED ocellaris (different tank) and some yellow polyps.

Anyway, when you get this tomorrow, let me know what you think about the LG percs.

And can you tell me when the sale is going to be over? dont want to miss it after all lol.

And it would be even faster if you emailed the customer service address.

The large percs are really nice but not too much larger than the large mediums. It's up to you but you might just want to save a little money and get a medium with a request for the largest possible.

As for the ocellaris sale, it really is while supplies last and supplies are now running low so I imagine they will go off sale sometime today. Get your order in at least for those and you can always add to it later.

im actually still planning the order lol, decided against the clownfish and keep the two i have now, but now thinking about a BTA.

how nice are the bubble tips doing this week.. .and i see the shrimp sale, so i imagine myself picking up a fire shrimp.

No problem. The BTA's are really good this week. We don't have many left actually but lots more will come in over the weekend. Take advantage of that shrimp sale soon because they are selling out fast. The fire shrimp are moving faster than the cleaners so act soon.

Just a little tip, if you are interested in McCosker's Flasher Wrasses, they are going on sale in about a hour. We don't have very many so they will be probably be gone by tomorrow at the latest.

What happened to the free shipping sale, i remember that a couple months ago, and never saw it again. But keep me informed for the next true percula sale, im a sucker for that, everytime i see the true percs at 50% i end up buying like 4 pairs. lol

How do you guys figure out sales? i know im putting up a 265 gallon FOWLR set up this summer, like julyish, and wondering if there are plans for a massive fish sale.

But anyway thanks for being there, very helpful. i actually have alot of credit with you guys and when you closed up this winter you guys scared the c*** out of me.
