for some reason there dont seem to be alot of golf freaks in C-Sea ,,,,,, they dont know what they are missing !! and if we did do a scramble outing ,,it dont matter if your that good or not !!!
Scramles are fun, we could even set ratings a,b,c,d, golfers and pair up so teams are even. If we don't get enough people for an outing maybe get a couple of groups and just go one sunday. or sat
+1 on the Z rating. I know ariffle11 and fowlratmhaha and myself would attend. It would be cool if we could put together some prize package for first through whatever and a case of beer for last of course.
Went to an outing once...it was an 18 hole scramble. You picked a partner(or got one) and they placed you with another pair and that was your scramble team. After the first 9 you stopped in for a quick sausage lunch, and then after your second 9 you came back for steak. Then a prize ceremony for all the teams (table of prizes that you picked something in order of team place). The proceeds from the event went to a scholarship fund. It would be nice if we could do something similar. Maybe get some local places and reefers to donate some goods as prizes, have just hot dogs for the bend and a pot luck for the dinner. (Get some of the non golfers to help out with that) and then we could donate the proceeds to one of the cleveland aquarium funds/local zoo/c-sea club/ etc. Could be a lot of fun and a good cause too!
The only problem with a pot luck is the golf course makes there money off the food/beer. I have no problem calling around the courses to get prices, if we can make this happen.
There is a place called Quarry Golf Club in Canton. They have outing packages starting at $47 a person. 18 holes with GPS golf carts (tells you where you are on the course and also shows every ones scores with live update), free water, access to the driving range prior to tee off, different skills contests (closest to pin, long drive, etc), signs to put sponsor cards in. If we are running short on people, maybe we can even get some CORA people to get in on it...have the match somewhere in between to accommodate driving times.
omg quarry is amazing hardest course in ohio i believe but it is gorgeous its a hallowed out quarry theres one hole were the tbox is about 500yards above the green the place looks like it belongs in south carolina
I was a beer girl for a golf outing little over a month ago at Emerald Woods by AT. Had a blast driving around in that little cart yelling beer girls! The club house provided beer/pop on the carts and 1/2 the proceeds went to the fundraiser.
I may not be able to golf but I can tote the beer cart like a pro once i learn the course. Let me know and i will be there. And if you need more beer girls...let me know.
What has change with golf courses now? I haven't played in years, and now they have beer girls going around with golf carts? I could have swore golfing used to be a quiet sport. Man I have to start playing golf again.
