I took mine to a guy that fills tanks for commercial use as well as fire extinguishers. He pressure tested it for me, and later filled it. Look in the yellow pages under fire extinguishers, give them a call and ask if they test containers.
there should be some numbers on the tank around the neck. the will be a date on there something like 02*01, thats your hydro date. most metal tanks have to be hydro tested every 5 years. that means if your date is older than 02*01 then it will need to be tested. however there are some three year tanks as well. take it to any place that sells CO2 they should be able to tell you from the DOT code on the tank how often it needs to be tested. also if it has a big dent in it, forget it. they wont even attempt to hydro test it. i had to learn all this stuff about CO2 tanks so i could fill CO2 tanks for paintball .
