Ca reactor recommendation

Hey PA,

I have a 100+ gallon reef and am looking for a great Ca reactor. Mixed garden with a clam.

I don't have a controller yet, would I need one of those to run the reactor safely?

Just wondering which one you guys love.

Thanks,

James

How about C-1502 KORALLIN KALKREAKTOR - FOR UP TO 400G ? I use C-3002 for my 150G. Very easy to setup and run smoothly.

Hi,

Another good choice is the Geo. I bought mine from PA 2 months ago and love it. It is very easy to setup and once dialed in, you really dont have to mess with it.

I would recommend getting the solenoid and a ph controller (I'm using the PA Lighthouse Controller, but the pinpoint works too).

That way, you set the bubble count and then the gas kicks on at a certain ph and then kicks off.

Mine is set to come on at a PH (in the reactor) of 6.60 and it turns off at 6.55

Good Luck.

We highly recommend the Geo. It's the easiest to setup, easiest to maintain, and buffers just as well as the high capacity Schuran, if not better. The unit is reverse flow, which is a little more efficent than standard top down flow, and keeps the co2 recirculated within the unit. It also comes standard with a PH probe port in the top of it if you choose to use either a monitor or controller with it, or you can just plug it up with a pvc male threaded plug if you do not want to run a monitor or controller.

If you have any questions please let us know!

Thanks,
Jeremy

Thanks for the input everyone. I will look at saving some coin to get a controller too. I read a thread here in this forum by Jose on tuning a Geo and that kind of makes me want a controller to go along with the reactor.

Thanks again!

James
