Ca Supplimentation question

Should I be testing my Ca consumption twice in a 24hour period to see what the rate of consumption is? Or is it just at the beginning of the photo period and then again at the end?

I am going to use randys 2pt with this doser:

You need to test, wait 24 hours and test again.

I'd worry alot more about the alkalinity consumption. You can just start with an equal dose and wait a few day's to test. If alk has fallen raise you're dose, and so on. The calcium and alkalinity are balanced, so just keeping alk in line should keep calcium in line. This being a diy version though, I'd probably test more frequently at first and work up to monthly calcium testing and weekly alkalinity testing. You may find you will have to add the two part's at different dosages.

Keeping alk in line will not necessarily keep Ca in line. You must test both.
