does anyone use the glass top it comes with to reduce evaporation? i tried using it but the black hinge (rubber ) part blocks the light on bottom of the aquarium. do u know if there is just flat glass top available or something with very very thin hinge?

I don't. Tried it but the tank got way too hot. I don't run a chiller so I need to go open top. I've never had any of my fish jump so it's not a problem for me not to have the top.

I have the MP20 and MP10 on my 25 day old system and both are turned way down right now (about 1/3 power). Awsome wide flow. I just need to adjust a bit once some more livestock is added. I have mine on lagoon mode slightly softer than reefcrest mode.

Dang, an MP20 AND a MP10 in one tank?! I have 1 MP10 in mine and that is plenty!:eek2:

JoshuaG,

I know:eek1: Too much! I had the MP 20 on my 90 and put it on the 39 because the MP 10 had not been shipped yet. My rock work is wierd because if I put the MP20 at the side of the tank, it blocks the under toe that I need to keep junk off the bottom. I placed it off the back and turned it way down on Lagoon mode and got a much better roll in the tank. I was using the MP20 with the Tunze nano at first and it was working very good, but when the MP10 arrived I put it in with full intention of taking out the MP20. The combination of the two in Lagoon mode gives me this increadible varying current that is not to strong but pulls just about everything off the bottom. The MP20 on the back helps me eliminate the dead spots next to the overflow. I will probably move the MP20 back to the 90 but for now it works great.

hey guys, how is the skimmer that comes with it working for you. its not working very well for me. What other options do i have? whats the BEST skimmer i can get for Cad 39G , all i one signature series? (that i can fit behind my tank).. Thanks a LOT for input.

i have 2 clowns, anthias, basslet, royal gramma, small copper branded butterfly. lots of crabs, snails. in the first chamber i have both bioball (about 20 balls) and 4 filterpads (that bond blue filter pads).. is that bad?

people have run the tunze 9002 in the second chamber successfully. others here have run the stock skimmer really well if you read back on this thread. i think euro-reef makes one that fits in the second chamber too. i killed the back sump part when i moved and put a SWC HOT on there.

the BEST skimmer out right now for the cadlights pro 39 is the Euroreef that is specifically made for our system, I have one and it is an incredible skimmer for the size and it fits perfectly where the stock skimmer does

What is this euroreef skimmer ppl are talking about. Where can I find it? Can someone post the link pls. So it's better than tunze 9002?

Edit: wait did u say euroreef skimmer fits cad 39g pro?? I have the signature series (all in one) tank. Will that fit in second chamber whre stock skimmer is??

the regular nano will fit. euro-reef also has a thing for making skimmers for nanos that they previously haven't done. i'd write in the euro-reef forum.

an hob might fit in the back also.

What is your budget and how much clearance do you have behind the tank?

budget is about 200-300 bucks. i would like to put it in second chamber in the all in one cad 39g signature series tank. space available is hmm. about 5 inches x 8 inches and 25 inches high.

If you want an in chamber skimmer then check out the Euroreef nano skimmers. If you are considering a HOB and your maxing at around $300 then definately check out the Warner Marine H2X. I believe it is right at 300 and is running on a LR curing tank at the LFS I frequent. Very nicely put together and skims very well. They have a wider neck and a bubble plate in them now so there is much less turbulence at the air/water line. The WM should fit fine with 5 in. clearance behind the tank. Also the Deltec mce300 is around your budget.
