CAD 39g owners...

I got the 8" generic aluminum clamp on at home depot with a 6500K 13watt compact fluorescent bulb. < $15 bucks for both at HD. I like it better because it's easy to relocate.

I noticed you ditched the stock fuge light for one from the hardware store. Do you know the exact light you went with? I dropped mine in the water and fried it

I didn't notice the transformer was in the base of the light - Sump level got a bit high during power out sump-level testing and cooked the fuge light. Road trip tomorrow to Home Depot for a new light

Mine popped too! Actually it blew up! The stock fuge light worked well, it's just designed poorly for wet applications (moisture). I should have got one at HD to begin with.
